Fzeen Floreasca Lake Bucharest, Romania
This residential project sits on the shores of Floreasca lake, Bucharest. Designed to be distinct from its surrounding environment, the project is a statement of modernity and speaks to the regeneration of the area.
Consisting of 46 apartments, the building envelope is made from aluminium and stone cladding on honeycomb panels. Giving the building a distinct structural identity, extruding white aluminium panels bookend either side of the apartment, framing the balconies enclosed within. The ground floor is raised to facilitate lake views for the apartments, with privacy maintained through a wall of greenery. And the entrance is marked with a distinctive series of aluminium arches that emphasise the separation between private and public space.
Envisioned as luxury private residences, there is an emphasis on discretion. Each apartment is carefully protected from another through enclosed wooden balconies, while extruding shells around windows punctuate the linearity of the building facade and separate apartments from each other. While privacy is maintained, all apartments have undisrupted views. On the roof, a penthouse apartment features a private swimming pool, and there is also a communal roof terrace for residents to enjoy spectacular lake views.
