Philip Morris Headquarters Attica, Greece
Philip Morris wanted a new landmark that would allow for the head offices and distribution centre to sit seamlessly together.
Located outside of Athens, Greece, the proposal represents a vision for harmony and collaboration. Central to the structural expression of this design is the head office, which is rendered through two core interlocking volumes. The lower volume is made from stone panels, while the upper geometric structure features steel compound cladding. The building’s extended eaves provide a structural shading system that is repeated on each level to help with temperature regulation.
The surrounding area of the site features two production facilities. These low-slung buildings feature wide rectangular windows at regular intervals to regulate the heat and light in the interiors. Exteriors are made from aluminium panels. With a focus on creating a positive working environment, there is an emphasis on greenery – with local trees and plants embedded along pathways throughout the site.
